My musical director Al Steele took over the Mike Smith Big Swing Band a few years ago, and he asked me to come along and perform a couple of songs from the new album.
The morning of the gig, one of the regular singers came down with severe tonsillitis, so I ended up stepping in for the whole night!
A bit of lyric prep, plus all the function gigs that i had done since the 80's, and we were ready to go. It was a great night, and all I can say is, it's nice to be kept on your toes!!
