Swansea Jazz Club was treated to a classy and heartfelt evening with vocalist Elaine Gilmore, presenting her Simply Bacharach Show. Elaine's warm, soulful voice brought Burt Bacharach's timeless songs to life, from tender ballads to upbeat favourites, each delivered with elegance and charm. She was superbly supported by a top class quartet: Dave Cottle on piano, Alun Vaughan on bass, The Korgis Al Steele on guitar and Paul Smith (who's also The Korgis drummer) on drums.
The audience was spellbound with timeless classics like "Alfie" "Walk on by" and "That's what friends are for", performed with both lyricism and flair. Her voice, sensitively expressive and powerful in equal measure, drew the audience right in as each familiar melody felt fresh and deeply personal.
Thank you Elaine for another unforgettable performance.
